These days picture book dummies tend to be digital, but in order to learn how picture books work I think it helps to actually create a dummy using the traditional method. There are so many wonderful ideas out there! Here are a few of my favorites….Picture book creators make a mock-up of their project, known as a dummy, for submission to publishers. I had fun visiting the posts from last weeks linky party. So, if you are a blogger, an educator or just someone looking for some good ideas, be sure to stop by Boy Mama Teacher Mama (or the other co-hosts) on Mondays and see what others have to share. The After School Link Up goes live every Monday. The After School Link Up is a great place to share ideas and to find new ideas to do with your children after school or in your homeschool. The Matzo Ball Boy by Lisa Shulman My favorites are the The Runaway Rice Cake and The Runaway Wok both by Ying Chang Compestine. Here is a list of the different versions I found. So, I set to doing so and was amazed with what I found. I had a few such stories in my personal collection, but decided I wanted to compile a list of all of the Gingerbread Men stories from around the world. I love the Gingerbread Man as much as the next mama or teacher, but what I love even more is finding other versions of a traditional story. Gingerbread Men Stories from Around the WorldĪ lot of teachers read the Gingerbread Man to their class this time of year.
